T1000 mechanical bullet hit shirt.

This shirt was worn by Robert Patrick in the 1991 James Cameron classic Terminator 2 Judgment day, the film was famous for its ground breaking special effects and this shirt shows the amount of work that goes into creating these special scenes!!

Under the shirt is a fibreglass resin plate which would have been cast off Robert Patricks chest, this was secured to him with elastic around his back at which point are the electrical motors to operate the spring loaded foam rubber bullet hits on the front, the shirt itself has been carefully cut with a knife and taped back together to allow the bullet hits to burst out.

Bicentennial Man Head appliance and costume

This head appliance and costume was worn by Robin Williams in the 1999 film based on the Issac Asimov book of the same title.

first knight helmet

This is a stage two head which was one of Andrew’s upgrades in the film, the head is a truly marvellous example of the work that goes into producing highly detailed animatronic pieces for the movies, it is made from many different materials including resin, fibber glass, vacuum formed plastic and silicone rubber, it must have been extremely hot and claustrophobic inside this mask on set.

The costume is a futuristic take on the classic sports jacket and trousers and can be seen worn in the scenes were Andrew visits his dying master, they were made by John David Ridge.

T1000 Sleeveless Shirt - "Terminator 2 Judgment day"

This shirt was worn by Robert Patrick in the James Cameron Film “Terminator 2 Judgment Day” the shirt is basically a Los Angeles police department shirt that has been modified by removing the sleeves for scenes were the T1000 uses arm attachments such as the lift scene.

It is constructed in this way so that the rubber arm attachments can be made separately and attached just prior to the scene being shot this saves on time and potential damage to the delicate prop arms.

The shirt also has a hidden zip front to save time in the dressing room! It may seem excessive to make this modification but over the course of a film the time saved by not having to do up buttons maybe a whole days filming.

Christmas Town Houses - "The Nightmare before Christmas"

This set of three houses was made for the 1993 Tim Burton stop go animation classic “The Nightmare before Christmas”. They are constructed from various materials including Styrofoam, cardboard, wood and duck tape! They represent the fantastic abilities of the model makers who made them. From one angle they give the impression of three houses in a row but you only have to look at them from another angle to see that they are only half finished and made for just the required shot.

Inside they are labelled as “set 0” and have wires connected to light bulbs that surround the windows. Also inside the roof are timber panels so that looking from the outside would give the impression that the buildings are furnished, this incredible detail would have gone un-noticed on film but goes to shows the detail that was put into the production.
